Tushita
Meditation Center is more than 30 years old and the main building dates
back to the time of the British Empire. As well as it's historic interest
the building has been home to great holy beings such as Trijang Rinpoche
and of course Lama Yeshe. Many
other high lamas have blessed this site and it really should be on the
list of pilgrimage sites in India!
Sadly the gompa was in very bad condition and needed to be completely
rebuilt. Many western students met the Dharma here and Tushita
holds a special place in the history of the FPMT. It was here that Lama
Osel was enthroned after being recognized as the re-incarnation of Lama
Yeshe.
Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, FPMT's Spiritual Director, has been
requesting Tushita to re-build its main meditation hall for
approximately 15 years! We are proud to announce that this wish will
finally be realized...
Big changes are afoot at Tushita as we have raised
enough funds to begin rebuilding Tushita’s dilapidated old gompa,
thanks to the generosity of supporters in Singapore and all over the
world.
This project is underway but still requires more funding. If you would
like to support us in this huge task please consider the following
options.
